Many years ago, washing machines were designed to be very functional and long lasting. Little if any attention was given to creating a machine that was energy efficient. As a result, older model washing machines could not only create a high water bill for the amount of water they used but could also create a high electricity bill for the amount of energy they consumed even for just one single load.
Today, thanks to technology, our washing machines are designed and created to be very energy efficient and can even have energy ratings that show they meet the requirements that will save you energy when you run your washing machine.
Understanding the energy efficiency rating of a new washing machine is not very complicated at all. Usually, newer appliances, including washing machines, have an energy rating label clearly posted for you to read before you purchase. If you are unsure about what that energy rating can mean to your utility costs, ask the sales person to explain how you can save money on your bills by upgrading your washing machine and other appliance to energy efficient ones.
Many new washing machines have high energy efficiency ratings and have even been awarded some awards for their design and how it helps to save energy not only for your utilities but inn consideration of the atmosphere and many go green initiatives.
If you are in the market for a new washing machine, consider an energy efficient one first.
